We want to invite students and professionals to be part of the Spring 2019 MentorSHPE Mixer at SF State University. Professionals will have the opportunity to share their experiences of transitioning from student life to professional and provide advice/insight on how to prepare for the future. Students will have the opportunity to get exposure, expand their network and the opportunity of a long-term mentor. First half of the event will be a traditional Q&A panel. The second half of the event will be "speed dating" style, where mentors will rotate between tables so students can ask questions in a smaller setting.
SHPE SFBA invites you to join us for our February General Meeting in San Francisco! Our theme this month is "To Engineering and Beyond". Hear success stories from a panel of professionals about taking your engineering degree beyond traditional engineering roles and into entrepreneurial, management and business ventures!
Following the panel we'll have round table discussions about a wide variety of professional and personal development topics, as well as on common issues and challenges we face in the workplace. This will be an opportunity to learn from your peers and maybe even find a mentor or mentee!
The SHPE SFBA professional chapter is helping the Napa Valley College student chapter recruit professionals to come have FREE breakfast while sharing words of wisdom with their students. You'll be chatting with a small group of students 15-20 minutes at a time and rotating between tables. Topics of conversation include: overcoming obstacles during college, challenges in the workplace, and tips for success, to name a few.
