The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Silicon Valley (SHPE-SV) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers San Francisco (SHPE-SFBA) have partnered with Nerdwallet for a Tech Talk on Mobile development on Tuesday June 27th.

Please join us to hear from the Nerdwallet engineering and product teams about their Mobile development process. The Nerdwallet diversity group and recruiting team will also be present to network with us.

End of the Year BBQ June 24, 11:00 AM 2017 at Marina Park San Leandro, California 94577

We will be having our SHPE SFBA End of the Year BBQ this Saturday at San Leandro Marina Park. We will be located by the volleyball court, please join us.

It will be potluck style with SHPE-SFBA providing a couple of main dishes to be accompanied by your delicious appetizers and desserts. Please fill out the Google sheet below to register and indicate what food item you will be bringing, the intent is that we all bring something different. We would like a headcount by Friday, June 23.

SHPE members will be able to join for free, and there will be a small fee of $5 for non-members. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the event.

We would like to invite you to our next general meeting. It will be this coming Thursday May 25th at the Google office in San Francisco. We will allow time for people running for board positions to give their speech on their qualifications. We will be providing drinks and snacks. Hope we can see you there!

Autodesk Tech Fest May 23, 6:00 PM 2017 at 1 Market Street #200 San Francisco

Autodesk is hosting an exclusive “TechFest” Event in their Gallery at One Market Street, SF. Tuesday, May 23rd, from 6:00 – 9:00pm.

Come listen to Autodesk speakers - (CTO), Jeff Kowalski, (VP) Lloyd Taylor, Cloud Infrastructure Services and (Tools Engineer), Gail Burks.

SHPE SFBA Dia de Ciencias May 20, 10:00 AM 2017 at 450 Martin St, Daly City, California 94014

The SHPE San Francisco Bay Area Professional Chapter invites you to partake in our annual community outreach event, Dia de Ciencias.

This year we will be hosting our Dia de Ciencias at The DeLue Boys & Girls Club. Where we are expecting over 100 students and parents to be in attendance.
That being said, we are also in need of volunteers to make this day as successful as the years past. Whether you have participated in a past or this could be your first time, we assure you this will be a wonderful experience.

When: Saturday, May 20th, 2017
Time: 10AM - 2PM
Where: DeLue Boys & Girls Club 450 Martin St. Daly City, CA

Volunteer Time Commitment: 8AM - 3PM

We have prepared a few interesting topics and speakers. We will be bringing a real estate agent come and talk to us about the process of purchasing a home and the current trend of home prices in the bay area. Also, SHPE elections are around the corner! We want to take some time to start nominating our upcoming board members. Lastly, we are making some changes to our chapter bylaws. We would like to take your input with the new updates. UCSC SHPE Sportsfest April 22, 8:30 AM 2017 at UCSC

SHPE SFBA invites you to join us in attending UCSC SHPE Chapter's annual Sportsfest on February 25th. Teams will be competing in soccer, basketball and volleyball.

The Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) for Region 1 will take place in Sacramento, CA this year. RLDC is a 2-day event with interactive workshops, networking events, competitions, and career fair during which SHPE members have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, create lasting contacts and share best practices for their local chapters. Workshops are tailored for each level of attendee so that lower division and upper division undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals can get the most of RLDC. Professionals Back to the Classroom: Entrepreneurship Edition March 25, 9:00 AM 2017 at General Assembly 225 Bush Street, 5th Floor (East Entrance) SF 94104

Join Latinos Startup Alliance (LSA), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) SF Bay Area Professional Chapter, and Latinos in Finance (LiF) for an event focused on educating early entrepreneurs or wannapreneurs interested in forming a startup of their own. There will be three workshops that will focus on how to turn an idea into a viable business, building the right team to turn your idea into a success, and when to pitch your business to angel investors/VC, as well as the opportunity to showcase what they learned in an ideation session.
