The SHPE San Francisco Bay Area Professional Chapter invites you to partake in our annual community outreach event, Dia de Ciencias.
This year we will be hosting our Dia de Ciencias at The DeLue Boys & Girls Club. Where we are expecting over 100 students and parents to be in attendance.
That being said, we are also in need of volunteers to make this day as successful as the years past. Whether you have participated in a past or this could be your first time, we assure you this will be a wonderful experience.

We have prepared a few interesting topics and speakers. We will be bringing a real estate agent come and talk to us about the process of purchasing a home and the current trend of home prices in the bay area. Also, SHPE elections are around the corner! We want to take some time to start nominating our upcoming board members. Lastly, we are making some changes to our chapter bylaws. We would like to take your input with the new updates. The Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) for Region 1 will take place in Sacramento, CA this year. RLDC is a 2-day event with interactive workshops, networking events, competitions, and career fair during which SHPE members have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, create lasting contacts and share best practices for their local chapters. Workshops are tailored for each level of attendee so that lower division and upper division undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals can get the most of RLDC. Join Latinos Startup Alliance (LSA), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) SF Bay Area Professional Chapter, and Latinos in Finance (LiF) for an event focused on educating early entrepreneurs or wannapreneurs interested in forming a startup of their own. Come join SHPE SFBA and get an up-close detailed look at the construction process during a walking tour of a Turner project - UCSF Oakland Children's Hospital.
The project consists of the construction of a second outpatient clinic. When it is finished, the six-story, 89,000-square-foot clinic will connect the existing outpatient center with other subspecialty clinics.This first phase is part of a decade-long plan to rebuild and modernize the hospital to meet seismic regulations and improve its facilities. The rebuild also includes creating a new entry to the existing parking structure and remodeling areas of the existing hospital.

Join SHPE SFBA at Google’s Annual Holiday Mixer, this year happening at the SF Google Office. Other organizations, such as SHPE SV, SWE and NSBE, will be present for this great event of networking and connecting with other professionals in the Bay Area.
