Please join SHPE SFBA on September 8th, at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation by Blaze Sanders of SpaceVR about the company and its virtual reality satellite. The presentation will take place at the offices of Morris Polich & Purdy, One Embarcadero, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94111.
Blaze Sanders is currently the Chief Technology Officer of SpaceVR (www.spacevr.co/preorder), where he works on camera electronics, satellite communications, and electromechanical CAD modeling. He was previously the Sr. Electromechanical Engineer at Meta Company, where he worked on Augmented Reality glasses that turn you into Ironman, the CTO of Solar System Express (Sol-X) building Ironmans rocket boots and electronics, and was a NASA civil servant at Marshall Space Flight Center and the Technical Program Manager of the JURBAN Google Lunar X PRIZE team working on a robotic Lunar Wormbot.
SpaceVR is the world’s 1st Virtual Reality (VR) satellite, delivering 360-degree Cinematic, Live, Virtual Space Tourism. Thus allowing users to#BeAnAstronaut and experience space firsthand from any mobile, desktop or virtual reality device. Through the use of 360-degree cameras, SpaceVR technology capture footage from the International Space Station’s (ISS) Cupola observatory module back to Earth so consumers can experience space travel in immersive virtual reality. Only 536 people have ever viewed the Earth from space, leading to a unique experience that astronauts refer to as the Overview Effect – national boundaries disappear, conflicts seem unimportant and humans are united in a desire to protect this "pale blue dot" called home. SpaceVR aims to bring this experience to everyone in realizing its mission of bringing the world together to preserve our planet. SpaceVR will provide this content through a “space-as-a-service” subscription model, with packages designed for consumers, classrooms, game developers, museums and more.
Blaze is bringing the following to the presentation for attendees to play with:
• 9 Samsung GearVRs
• 20 Homindo Mini's
• 1 Oculus
Refreshments will be served.
