During this workshop you will learn that being your authentic self means being comfortable with whom you are and openly sharing that with others. Neil will share his path to bringing his authentic self to work.

During this workshop you will learn that effective communication starts with awareness that we are all connected and our messages have an energetic effect on other human beings. Consistency is this output of messages and the energy behind it allows others to be attracted to you.

LAM's 8th Year Anniversary Gala & Community Awards Celebration June 27, 8:00 PM 2015 at W San Francisco

SHPE SFBA invites you to LAMs 8th Year Anniversary Celebration being held at the W San Francisco. This event is a celebration of SF Bay Areas Latino professional community with numerous local and national organizations co-hosting the event.

LAMs anniversary event has become one of the largest networking Latino professional events of the year with over 500+ guests attending. This year will be no different, with a packed agenda for the event.

There will be an award ceremony showcasing the Bay Areas Latino talent, live performances, and dance reception with DJ Santero and DJ C Bass playing the best of musica Latina.

SHPE SFBA 2015-2016 Chapter Board Elections May 28, 6:30 PM 2015 at Macys.com

Join SHPE SFBA for our general meeting on Thursday, May 28. This meeting will be focused on elections for next years officers. We encourage you to attend this event as all paid members will be able to vote for the candidates.

Join us as we listen to each candidate give their speeches of why they want to run for the executive board. Since this will be a shorter meeting than normal, we will be going to a local establishment afterwards to network. If you are a paid member and would like to vote, but wont be able to make it to the meeting please reach out to Aaron Martinez. You must be a paid member to run for any position.

Below is a description of each position:

Outreach Coordinator - Liaison between chapter and community events

Membership Development Coordinator Liaison between our chapter board and our membership.

Student Outreach Coordinator - Liaison between our chapter and university students.

Secretary - Assist in chapter operations / bookkeeping

Webmaster Run our website and assist chapter in IT services.

Treasurer Track chapter finances

Professional Development Coordinator Liaison between chapter and industry to serve our members.

Vice-President Oversee/Assist president in chapter operations.

President Oversee chapter operations / Serve as liaison between our chapter and SHPE National Office.

Family Science Night @ Charles Drew Elementary April 7, 6:00 PM 2015 at 50 Pomona Avenue, San Francisco, CA, 94124

This is the fourth and last location for the Exploratorium Family Science Night series.

I personally like working with kids and the field of Engineering for obvious reasons ;)

Activities such as these combine these two passions of mine. If you share this interest, activities like these are prefect for you!

Exploratorium and SHPE-SFBA appreciates any help. These 1hr events are fast-paced and fun!

Family Science Night @ Bret Harte Elementary March 26, 6:00 PM 2015 at 1035 Gilman Avenue, San Francisco, CA, 94124

This is the third Family Science Night location the Exploratorium has picked for the 2014-2015 school year.

Activities normally cover spectroscopes, sound sandwiches, buzzing bees, gyrocopters, and even slime!

Never gets boring seeing the faces of kids light up with these cool mini-activities.

As a reminder, the Exploratorium staff normally takes the lead. We normally work directly with the kids assisting them with these experiments. Lots of kids and their parents attend these nights. The interest is definitely there.
